I am an enthusiastic Engineering Science student with a profound fascination for the world of robotics and a passion to make a meaningful difference in our society. My educational journey has equipped me with a solid foundation in engineering principles, and my interest in robotics drives me to explore the technology space and apply them to create innovative solutions.
My journey into the world of robotics began quite recently, after gaining hands-on experience trying to tackle a real-world opportunity in my Praxis III course this previous semester (Winter 2023). Our team was faced with the challenge of designing and building a mechatronic prototype to tackle the plastic crisis in Ghana. Throughout every step in the design process, I was inclined to optimize our designs and learn CAD to build parts of the prototype. Along with this, I gained several skills related to power tools, microcontrollers, project management, and much more. As the project progressed, I found myself trying to learn more and enhance my skillset and become more curious as to how I can improve it. For further details on this project, click here.
Beyond my technical pursuits, I am deeply committed to leveraging my engineering skills to positively impact the world and foster the next generation of STEM students.
Education and Outreach -- I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and inspiring the next generation of engineers. I have participated in educational outreach programs, including mentoring younger students at the University of Toronto and preparing them for first-year chemistry courses. Furthermore, I have recently worked with Oxford Learning as a Math and Science tutor, where I helped students gain confidence in their skills and fill in learning gaps due to COVID-19. I am very passionate about helping my students understand how STEM is applied in real life and how it builds everything we see around us; math and science help us to explain the world we see around us and we use it to create unimaginable technologies.
